Characterisation of preliminary priority areas for smart specialisation in Moldova

The report “Characterisation of preliminary priority areas for smart  specialisation in Moldova” was commissioned by the joint research centre of the European commission to assess the alignment between the Moldovan S3 preliminary priorities identified by national and international experts and the specialisation niches of the local R&D  ecosystem.

An extremely large volume of publications, research projects and patents was analysed via text mining techniques to extract and characterise  the thematic specialisation areas of the Moldovan R&D ecosystem and to align them with the S3 preliminary priorities.

Our work, based on UNiCS technology, helped the Moldovan stakeholders to kick start their entrepreneurial discovery process and make significant steps towards the implementation of their S3 strategy.
